Are ground pecan shells beneficial?

Richland, WA(Zone 7b)

I have shells from about 20 pounds of pecans, which I ground in my VitaMix (an extra container for composting!) and I am going to incoporate it into my raised gardens. Does anyone know if they will add anything other than organic matter? I also do the same when I have peanut shells.

Does anyone have information on this? I would appreciate it--

Sorry, I don't know. I put my peanut shells in the compost with no problems. Maybe the compost forum would know...

Pecans are excellant. The pecan tree requires hi amts of nitrogen to produce well, and that is just one of the benefits, leaves, shells, all parts are desirable, and this is ANY nutshells, as well as peanuts. pecans and peanuts are hi veggie fats, more so than almonds, say, and I wouldnt use salted pistachios shells too much, but even hickory shells ground up would be great
