Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Greensboro, Apex??

Looking for a Garden Center or Nursery or anywhere I can find Lantana -- Red Butler. (Not Rhett)

This variety is very vigorous (not perennial here) and is solid red ...grows up a few feet up and than spreads out --- flat topped. It is great. I have found Dallas Red but not this particular one that I got my hands on one time only. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks so much newgirl. I will look at it. Another DG'er is looking for me too. The one and only time I found it (and what a terrific performer it was right up until snow and it went taller than what I have been getting and then grows sideways which is really the best aspect) was in Greensboro!! At the farmers market.

Call Fairview Gardens in Apex and ask for Sandra, tell her what you want. Its a treat if you have not been there since they expanded.

Its funny you should ask today because my husband asked me the very same thing yesterday - i told him a few weeks ago about the nursery in Apex and your SIL because he sometimes heads out that way ( morrisville - not too far) and I thought he could pick up if it worked out. But I did not because every single new thing I planted has been disrupted by this lousy vole .. It took all my energy away and then the heat and rain and ticks hit these last few weeks. I figured I would settle for the Dallas Red that I did plant - I've got a full tray of those. I still plan to make a trip one weekend just to check it out and I will ask for her in case your SIL happens to be there. I've only been to one in Apex sitting right on Hwy 55. Thank you for asking

You need some mole bean seeds to get the vole. I have been battling them all spring till I got the seeds now they are gone. Just holes left

I will try anything what is mole bean seed? I read that it is just one vole likely because territorial..... But what a mess. Seem to skirt the flagstones hills and runs everywhere. Seemed to make a beeline around all the new plants I put in..maybe because I had loosened the soil already with the recent planting.

You have some kind of grubs in your soil and the vole is after them. I will see if I have any seeds left I think I planted them all. If not I will send one to you. Voles donot like the seeds nor the plants

So will the pant actually repel the vole? Or, are you saying that it is just a sort of pant that when planted will at least be safe as compared to other plants?

Grubs? Well I bet the soil is loaded with japanese beetle grubs and the cicadas are NUTS the past two weeks

Aren't mole bean seeds castor beans? I have thought about planting them but they get so darn tall and the moles seem to stay in that paths around the house.

I will look for those beans but tell me again..... these are beans that I plant and they will grow? Or, do the voles just hate the beans if they chomp on them? Will I have to plan for the 'design' of these plants? Do they spread? Do they need a certain growing condition? Or are you sprinkling them in the garden and no worry where the sprout is --if there is a sprout?

I will google to look at photo etc., but would appreciate an overview of exactly how to be used. Thanks for the suggestion Lavina
