Please help me identify a new plant to my garden. It looks like it's a tropical, very fragile looking. The flowers are a vivid lavenderish pink. The stems are watery looking with no leaves. There are cup like growths along side of the stem with a yellow design inside of "the cups". I was told a rain lily, but looked at a lot of different species and didn't see any that looked like my plants. I have no idea what it is, but it is very pretty. Blooms are about 3 inches across and there are two layers of petals. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can anyone help me?
Any chance you can post a picture?
I am going to have to learn how to post a picture of it. I have it on my cell phone. Now, if only an old dog can learn new tricks! I will go to Att to see if they will help me to learn. Appreciate your interest in helping me.
I don't think you can post it directly from the cell phone--you can email it to yourself then download it from your email onto your computer and then you can upload it from there. Unfortunately cell phone pictures are often small & poor quality so may not be ideal for ID'ing your plant, but it's definitely worth a try. If you can get a picture with a real camera though that may be more helpful.
ecrane, thanks for your help. I saw a picture of a similar plant on this tropicals site and it was from Australia. It grows in the U.S. and is called the Cape York Tumerick or Cucurma Australasica. I don't know how it got in my flower bed unless it was in some ginger lilies that I purchased. Hope all is well with you and again, thanks for your help.
Curcumas are in the same family as gingers so that makes sense.
You can email yourself a pic from your phone, and then upload it to DG.
If it doesn't have leaves it won't be Cucurma australasica. This is a photo of the flower:

You can see part of the leaves there too.
