I know this is off-topic, but for those who are so inclined, I would appreciate your prayers please. I have been called for a possible kidney transplant in Dallas. The catch is that I have a high-probability of what is called a positive crossmatch. That means that I may have antibodies that would react to the blood from the donor, which would destroy the kidney. Please pray for divine intervention, that I do not have antibodies against the donor blood and that the crossmatch is negative. Blood tests will be done tonight and I will know by tomorrow morning. If the tests clear me, I should get a new kidney sometime tomorrow afternboon. I'm cross-positing in Tomatoes and Vegetable Gardening since that is where I post most often.

Possible Kidney Transplant/off-topic
David- you will have lots of prayers- you have hundreds of friends here at DG, and we won't let any bad news come in!
You are in our thoughts. We will all be rooting for you!
David
I have a vested interest in you getting well quickly; I haven't asked you all of my gardening questions yet (ha). Seriously, we all hope and pray that you have a quick and complete recovery and are back posting here soon. .
Thanks for the prayers and positive thoughts. Unfortunately I didn't get the kidney.
So sorry to hear that you didn't get this kidney, but will continue prayers for another suitable donor for you.
May a perfect match come soon for you.
David, I hope you get a match soon. The surgery usually takes about 3 hours, and when you wake up, the new organ should be functioning. Stay positive. There will be a match for you.
I'm praying, too!
Sending you positive ( the good for you kind of positive!) vibes, dreaves.
Can relate! I had my kidney transplant in Feb. '09. Had to have Pheresis (like dialysis) for about 4-weeks after!
You will be fine! I will talk to the (MAN) for you...My oldest brother died to complications of the heart and kidney(he only had one due to surgery prior transplant) and my little brother(Casey), 6-days after my brother died 9-11-09, GET THIS got a perfect match kidney at U.A.B. I believe Joey (eldest) had a lot to do with that; if you know what I mean!
Please eat well and exercise as much as you can(I know that is hard when all you want to do is sleep). been there done that...
If you have any Questions please don't hesitate to d-mail me.
Good vibes your way!
Back at the hospital for another possible kidney. Have to get past the crossmatch test--a five hour wait before we will know anything. Hopeful, but I don't REALLY expect good news. Multiple trips and continued disappointment is difficult and frustrating.
Good luck! I can't even imagine the roller coaster of emotions. Just remember that eventually you will get a match, hopefully this will be the time. Please keep us posted. I'm not that far from Hutto, if you need anything don't hesitate to ask, just dmail me.
GOOD VIBES YOUR WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Prayers that today is the day!
Prayers being sent for a successful match.
Thinking of you, David. Sending T and P's your way.
Hope it works out this time.
Hang in there!

Thanks to all for the thoughts and prayers. Didn't work out today, but still hopeful that with time the right kidney will be mine.
Sorry to hear that. With time the right kidney will come.
I sure would like an update on this , David . I lurked , but never posted on this thread , so lost you . So glad to find this thread again . Continued prayers .
Still waiting. My wife, my sister, and some friends from church all tested to see if they might match but all had a crossmatch reaction. Still on dialysis, do as well as can be expected.
I'll be watching this thread for future reports . Still praying .
Thanks for the update .
