Daffodils gone white...?

2 years ago I came into some free bulbs, among them 120 or so daffodils. I would have sworn up and down that they were yellow. Well the came up and bloomed with small white flowers. That spring I got more free bulbs that still had the flowers on them...they were yellow. Well after drying in the garage then spending summer and early fall in the basement they went in the ground with some hyacinth around the base of a pine tree. 2 came up and bloomed yellow, the rest small and white! Is there something that can make this happen that I can correct?

Mmmm....never heard of this happening before. I do know that some daffs initial bloom color can be a more intense yellow or pink and then will fade to a lighter shade. And then also, bulb bloom color can be altered by the degree of sunlight or other growing conditions, but it sounds like your color change is much more pronounced than what I'm talking about...
