I try to help this little guy found in the garden struggling for air....staggering into the shrub, but was in apparent distress....he can take in some nectar with a Q-tip...

My question is how much, how long should I try to give him nectar without over feeding him?

Did the hummer make it ??

I'm terribly sorry, it didn't. There were no obvious injury, nor was it too hot. I didn't know what's the nature of its ailment. I called local rehabbler. By the time they returned my call. It was too late.

Lily love: at least you tried. Maybe it was just his time? I found a dead, unmarked hummer out by the front porch one day. He appeared to just have fallen out of the sky.

cedar18, thank you for the words of comforting. It's sad when we lose something we so love.

I do know when birds go into shock they can go quickly. I'm sorry it didn't make it =0( but atleast you tried to help and probably saved it being eaten by some critter.
