1 - One of the Myiarchus flycatchers, not sure which one. Ash-throated is what I'd expect in CA, but this bird looks a bit bright yellow for that, and also looks like it has a pale base to the bill; if so, then it might be Great Crested. Worth getting other local birders to check it out.
2 - Red-tailed Hawk
3 - Yep, Western Gull
4 - Street pigeons!

Thank you very much Resin. I will check further on the flycatcher.

Agree with 2-4, No.1 sure looks like Great Crested...and the the base of the bill is pale like Resin said.

#1 looks like a Western Kingbird. Definitely not Ash-throated or Great-Crested. Size is difficult to determine in the pic, but the Western Kingbird is much larger than the others. I see these birds regularly, I'm almost certain it's a W. Kingbird.

I did wonder about W Kingbird, but that has (a) an all-black bill, (b) more contrast between the grey crown and white throat, and (c) a black unterside of the tail, with white edges. This bird doesn't fit any of those.

Any more pics of it?

I know I should know better than to doubt the expert. :-) The more I look at that bird, the less I think it's a kingbird. But, I can't see any signs of a crest which has been prominent on the GC Flycatchers I've seen. I'm not one to obsess and spend a lot of time i.d.ing birds unless it's one that might matter, like an extremely rare species or a lifer. Ash Throat is a possibility.
