I need to know the best way to decide which seedlings should to die and which ones should live, and at what point. I planted 3 to 4 sugar snap peas, bush beans, pole beans, cantaloupe and squash seeds in every hole, and of course they all germinated. They are anywhere from 1 inch to 4 inches high. Should I eliminate all but the strongest looking one or two sprouts, or should I try to separate the seedling and it roots and replant them somewhere else?
Would someone please help me commit planticide?
All of the ones you mention are hard to transplant.
Go with the strongest. I usually will pull (clip off) the weakest and use them as sprouts in salads. What I mostly do is sprout and grow on the seeds and then plant them in the garden. It saves a lot of space and a lot of seed.
