Supposed to be broccoli.... what?

Roswell, NM(Zone 6a)

Does anyone know what this is? I planted it last year and REALLY think it came out of the Waltham 29 package I had purchased from fedco.... BUT I did have several varieties (only planted one) and it never headed, it just came up with these velvety looking leaves and never bolted or seeded and YET, it's somehow reseeded itself in the aisles of my raised beds! Ever seen it? I have no idea what it is. The broccoli packages that I have are:
Calabrese
EvenStar American Rapa OG
nutri-Bud
oregon long neck
Piracicaba Broccoli
Purple Sprouting
Tendergreen
Waltham 29

THANKS.

Have no idea. Either a weed or a flower. Not any vegetable I have ever encountered. You migh try posting the photo in the plant ID forum. some good botanist over there.

Thanks Farmerdill. I was hoping you would answer. If you don't know.... well. I'll try the plant ID forum but I may also send some leaves to Fedco and see what they say.

Fedco does sell a Japanese version of Burdock. and seeds do get mixed. It does not look like the common burdock which I consider a weed. Some folks use it as an herb ( the roots that is)

It looks like clary sage (Salvia sclarea) to me. The pictures here on DG don't show a plant when it's just coming up, but that's what mine look like right now. (I am sorry, but I am not going to put up a photo of my clary sage plants here and allow Internet Brands to have its unlimited use for all time.)

It looks like a salvia to me, too, not sure which one...Maybe Argentea?

Thank you all so much. I'm going to go ahead and mail some leaves and pictures to fedco to see what they say.
