Hello from North Carolina

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

I hope that you and yours and all your gardens are safe.
I can't think of anything more frightening than wild fire (and this is from someone who saw first hand the tornado damage last week in Raleigh and Sanford and experienced way too many Florida hurricanes).

Sending up prayers and good thoughts for all Texans and response personnel working on controlling the fires.

Beaumont, TX(Zone 9a)

It is so awful to see the reports from NC... praying for the people of NC and our DG friends in NC.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

A friend of mine lost her house on Possum Kingdom Lake yesterday -- nothing left but a few stone pillars and a bunch of smouldering white ash. It's unbelievable how hot those fires are burning. Hopefully some rain will fall in that area soon.

Intthegarden - thank you. The little newborn that everyone was pulling for lost her life yesterday. Her mom, big brother and two small cousins all were in a small closet but all the children were lost.

Heartbreaking. It reminds us that circumstances can change in the blink of an eye.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing your support.

My co-worker's son is stationed at Ft. Bragg in Fayetteville. He & his wife moved into a new to them home 3 weeks ago. They had a tree in their bedroom and a tree on top of his truck. The truck is totaled. Not sure about their house. They were not at home at the time, thank goodness!

Those storms are so powerful - the size of the trees that topple are crazy big (I guess the wind catches the broad tops and physics takes over). I am glad all was well with them - although I know that they are struggling with the house.
