Cucumber Beetles

Do they damage brugmansia?

Both stripped and spotted cucumber beetles will eat members of the squash family, but they will also eat other plants as well. If they are infected with the bacteria that causes bacterial wilt, they will pass it on to any plant they bite into. The larva eat the roots of host plants, but I dont know if Brugs are considered host plants. The adult female lays her eggs in the ground near the host plant. The larvae are worm-like and feed on roots. Look for adult on the underside of the leaves. If there only a few, pick them off and squash them with your shoe. If they are around in large numbers you may have to spray or use a systemic on your Brugs.
