It was about the size of a canteloupe, mottled dark green skin, shaped like a buttercup squash but with more moisture in the flesh. I saved the seeds! Anybody have some names to suggest? I wish I had taken a picture.
Need ID on small, green, winter squash
There are quite a few buttercup types in the 4-6 lb range. Burgess Buttercup, and Bonbon seem to be the most popular, Asian types like the Japanese kabocha are also buttercup type, Kurinishiki, Kogiku, Eclipse fit the "small" category.
