Help ID these weeds/flowers please

Ben Wheeler, TX(Zone 8a)

We moved in the fall to just East of Canton and now that things are blooming and growing I'd like some help to ID some of these.
Some are probably just weeds but some look like they will flower. If any are worthy I would like to bring them to the round up and share.
First - this has small purple flowers and are about a foot tall with a nice fragrance.

Next looks like a type of native Lambs Ear but I can't find it on the native threads. I have lots and some are large and very nice.

Third is a tall single plant with red stem. I have nothing but sandy soil and it's POOR where these are growing.

Fourth is a nice plant this is about 2 feet wide and 1 foot tall. Growing in sandy just like if I lived at the beach!!! LOL

Fifth is a small flowering plant. The flowers are purple and it's just beginning to bloom. Could this be a short phlox??

Sorry, here is a larger picture. My camera focused on the foliage but you can see the flower although it's blury,

This is the stem on the first flower I posted. It's the light purple with a nice fragrance.

I'm sure I'll have more questions as things continue to pop up out of our sand and bloom.
I've spent about 2 hours looking through various threads and other sites on natives and can't seem to decide what these are so thank you for any help and ideas.
Thanks,
Mindy

Mindy, I cant really see the first picture, too small, and the stem in the last picture didn't help, sorry.
The second picture is a Plantago, there are many most of them native, good plant for butterflies.
The third one looks like a milkweed, can't tell which one, all of them are also good for butterflies.
Not sure about the fourth or the fifth.
The sixth is of the mustard family and called Pepper grass also a native.
I hope that helps.

Mindy, your first photo wont blow up when I click on it. Neither will the firsts photo of #5. Ive seen #5 all my life but never knew what it was called.

Mindy, for #5, look at Venus Looking Glass, Triodanis perfoliata. See what you think. I looked at the ones on Wildflowers.org. Cam

THANK YOU!! I really should be in bed but here I am. LOL
I'll repost the photos that are too small and I'll check out the suggestions you've given me tomorrow when I'm not slumbering on the keyboard. I appreciate you all so much.

Here's a larger photo of the first flower. This one transplants easily and smells so nice.

Frostweed and Cam, thanks again for the help. I think the milkweed is either common or mexican/blood flower. I will know when it blooms. The flowers of common are white or pink and the blood flower is red and orange. Cam, this DOES look like Venus Looking Glass. It's so exciting to learn about these. I always just looked at them as weeds until I found DG.
I am thinking the first one might be Salvia engelmannii.... what do you think??
This brings me to another question. Part of my 5 acres I need to turn into pasture for my old horse who is 27 but part I want to keep natural - minus the sticker burs and bull nettle. Should I try to transplant what natives are on the 'other' part and bring them to the part I want to keep natural? Can I plant a native grass along with these flowers to keep the sticker burs and bull nettle out? I've heard buffalo grass won't do good in my sand so are there other options?
Thanks so much,
Mindy

Mindy, I believe #4 might be lespedeza a legume used for hay and cow/horse feed. Check it out. Cam

Steadycam - it could be but it's got a slightly different growth pattern. I will take a photo of the whole plant tomorrow.

I wonder if the 2nd one is common verbascum with it's fuzzy leaves? If I remember correctly it DID flower last summer with similar flowers.
I'm off to bed.
M~
