Saving corn seed for next year?

Hutto, TX(Zone 8b)

I somehow mis-ordered (over ordered) seed for this year. I have 1/2 pound packets of Sugar Baby F1, Ambrosia F1, and Peaches & Cream F1 that is extra, completely beyond what I can plant this year. Can the seed be saved for next year if I vacuum pack it and keep it in the refrigerator or freezer? The seed is treated with fungicide, but I don't think that has anything to do with shelf life. I hate to waste it, but there's no possible way I can use it this year. I still have about a 1/4 pound of Abrosia and 1/2 pound of Peaches & Cream from a different vendor that I will be planting.

Suggestions?

I have no problem with 2-3 year old corn seed. I don't make any special storage arrangements, but keeping it in a freezer greatly extends its life.

Farmerdill...I've been told that freezing seed isn't recommended unless the % humidity in the seed is around 8% (?) and that higher seed moisture levels will cause the seed to crack when frozen...your opinion please!

I don't keep seed in the freezer, so I am no expert on the subject. I don't usually keep corn seed more than 3 years. don't have germination problems at that interval. I do have friends that store most of their seeds including corn in the freezer and they don't seem to have problems. Of course, they do wait for several months before putting it in the freezer. Thats for saved seed. Commercially purchased seed can go directly in the freezer if desired. It does extend life, especially for things like southern peas and beans.

The corn seed I have is commercially produced. It went into the freezer Friday, and when I checked this morning it didn't seem any worse for wear. It was in sealed commercial plastic bags, and I put that into a heavy freezer plastic to protect it. I should be able to use it next year, so hopefully it will be fine. Thanks for the information on keeping it. I was thinking of giving it away since I thought that corn was only a one-year seed.
