I have been feeding my mobility service dog Wellness Core, with Merrick canned mixed in. She gets 1/2 cup Core, a heaped up tablespoon canned. Plus leftover good veggies or meat that we might have, or scrambled egg. She is 2-1/2 and is 3/4 Border Collie, 1/4 Bouvier Des Flanders. She is at a good weight at 47 pounds.
I also have an old pet dog, an Australian Shepherd who is 14. She eats Wellness less active or senior or whatever they call it...LOL... I have only been buying it for her since she was 5 or 6 you would think I would know! Pebbles eats more, a heaping cup twice a day. She is at a good weight at 55 pounds.
Now that I can no longer work I have to look at feeding less expensive food. Breaks my heart. Realistically, Pebbles won't be with us much longer, although she is healthy for now. Once I am down to one dog, I plan to move Josie back to Core.
The manager of the Complete Petmart where I live talked with me about many foods. They now carry Fromm foods. She shows Rotties, and she has her dogs on it and says they are doing really well. Says she gets lots of complements. She recommended the less active for both dogs. It was less than $40 for the large bag. A large bag of Core did not have as many pounds in it and was a little over $60.
I can't find a lot of info on it though... Nothing about recalls, not much on Dogster or here on this forum.
Anyone have any experience with it?
Thanks,
Juli
