Green Beans

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Does anyone have green beans in their garden? My mom use to always have them, but I never see any at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. I think they were pintos.

This site has them for sale - about 3/4ths the way down the page - very reasonable price.

Thanks, Kay. I'm wondering if it's too late here to plant the bean, thinking maybe I need something already started. I think I'll go ahead and order some and try anyway. Thanks, again.

Kay, just so you know, when I went to order they gave a message that due to a serious illness they didn't know when they would be taking orders again.

You should be able to pick up packets of green bean seed at the stores that stock seeds. I know walmart has them and our local ace hdwe does too. You can direct sow and you are not too late to plant them. Good luck!

I got my pinto bean seeds from Tractor Supply.

It's probably not too late to start them from seed. You can pick them up just about anywhere.

Great! I found the plants at Marshall Grain, too.

I have beans planted here and there this year. There are about 5 or 6 butterflies that use them as host plants! Then there are peanut plants coming up here and there when the bluejays have buried the extras.
