I have a RSL hen that cannot seem to pass the egg through the vent. She was injured a week or so ago by the other hens. She is in a small pen now. She layed an egg 2 days ago with no problem. I have had a look and a feel and the egg does not appear any larger than her usual eggs.
Need help ASAP
Never mind. I just went back out and she had managed to pass it with no apparent damage. It's a normal size egg. Don't know what the problem was.
Glad she is okay!
Like how customer service says "Is there anything else I can help you with today?"
Great news Cajun: I hate scares like that, but grateful it was just a scare...Hay
Awww Cajun, poor baby......but see......You came to us and knew we were here if you needed us! So glad everything came out alright!!!! LOL!!! ;0D !!!
I'm sorry.. I was tryin to be funny.. I didn't mean to be rude.. I am very glad she is okay, and I hope she continues to be okay!
I'm so glad she's ok!
ZZ you are never rude! We love your humor!
She is doing fine this morning. I knew I could count on you guys. I figured even if you didn't know what to do you'd give me moral support. LOL I lost a hen like that a couple weeks ago. I'll post a pic of the aftermath so if you are squeamish, look away. I don't take such pics or do necropsies to be ghoulish or morbid but rather to learn so I can be a better chicken person.

Yes, that's gross but I had to look.
Zz Don't you know they are so sincere with, "I am so sorry for your inconvenience"? We know they are not sorry. :) They probably love it. My phone company is the worst, worst worst. Put you on hold for an hour then say "so sorry for the inconvenience" yeah sure you are.
Cajun, how is she now?
She is doing fine. Laying early every morning with no further episodes. But I have to keep her seperated because she is so eaten up. Now she is picking at it herself. I sprayed it with some aluminum spray.
