Simply exquisite would be my words. Can we get a full shot showing the length of the calyx though or a seedpod? Boy, I sure am a demanding one. Guess I could be patient and wait till mine blooms. Thanks so much Glory for that superlative hybrid.

Do you notice how the flower itself opens up and splits the calyx open? I love that trait. With a long calyx one can still find this on occassion, but most often if one removes the calyx one finds a very veriscolor looking beginning underneath or in other words a very thin part of the corolla tube that then opens up. If one has a very long thin corolla tube that opens up and splits a calyx open it only leaves one to wonder how strange or exotic the flower would look if one could keep the long thin corolla tube that unfolds into such a wonderful flower and simply shorten the calyx down to say 1 or 2 inches. That characteristic is apparent in some insignis crosses and such but generally not to any noteable extent.... Just rambling blindly as ussual. I sincerly can't wait to start hybridizing with this hybrid at any rate and will most likely cross Noel to either Butterfly or another pink aurea....

this plant was about 10ft tall when I cut it down.:0( I still have another one by my gazebo that is getting ready to bloom again so I'll get more pictures for you Brugman.
Becca Lynn...another Hybrid doesn't have the long caylox but sadly to say I don't have a close up of that one and I have already cut it down for the season...sorry
