An Unepected Beauty.

Merino, Australia

I just had to share my gorgeous little bloom. I have never had this one flower before. Its darrahii ( syn. anguilger).
I saw the buds a month or so ago and got such a surprise as my epis finished way back in November last year.
The plant is only about 5 years old . I looked yesterday and thought it would be days away from opening, but this morning, there it was. Such a dainty flower. Only about 2 1/2 - 3 inches across.
No discernable scent this morning. I will have to brave the spiders and go smell it at night.

What a pretty bloom. All I have are cuttings now going into their 2nd spring. Maybe I'll get lucky later this year.

Very pretty..I don't know about braving spiders though. LOL

Still one flower to open and the spiders are gone for the year now. Beautiful Orb spiders that like to put their web across the paths at night about head height .
