CLOSED: Red-tailed Hawks?

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

I'm hoping these are the Red-shouldered Hawks that have nested in the neighborhood the last few years but they are probably just Red-tailed Hawks. The trees the Red-shouldered Hawks liked have been cut down though, so don't know if I'll see them this year.

There were 3 of them, very high and right under the sun. They were screeching but not as noisy as the Red-shouldered usually are. Couldn't get a pic of all 3 at the same time, but here are 2.

Last pic I'll post -- took a lot of pictures but all are lousy.

Red-tailed.

Red-shouldered has a conspicuous pale / white crescent just in from the wingtips; compare this pic: http://www.flickr.com/photos/28273437@N06/4314167323/

Thanks, that's what I thought. Didn't know about that white crescent. Thanks for the link that helped me to understand what you were talking about.
