Do your pets have play dates with other animals? I have two big dogs but one is 13 and no fun, according to the other dog who is one year old and hyperactive. A friend of mine had two little dogs, one that is 14 and one that is a year old. Her mother came and got the older dog, leaving the younger dog all alone and lonely. Teresa said Pebbles just mopes around, won't eat, won't play, etc. She thought her dog had acquired "anxiety". I said, "She's not anxious; she's lonley.
Bring her over for a play date with Nikko."
So she does regularly. Pebbles loves both my dogs and they both love her, altho she only comes up to their ankles. Teresa said she comes to life when she comes over here. And she and Nikko run all over the house and the yard, chewing on each other, kissing, wrestling, etc. I think they appreciate play dates with "people" of their own species just like we do. Those two are inseparable when they're here. Teresa and Pebbles may be here all day and the dogs won't stop playing. They even share their food. But they won't nap; there's just too much fun to be had. After Pebbles goes home, Nikko crashes out, and Teresa says Pebbes does the same.
Do your pets have play dates? Or is here a park you can take them too where they can play with other dogs? Are there any interesting pet functions in your area? I think of my pets as children and I know most of you do too. So it seems fitting that the'd have play dates and other recreational activities.
