Lowe's by me is selling them but I thought they were Northern plants?? I've only seen them in the shade up in the Northeast but I'm thinking Lowe's wouldn't go that far out of range with a plant..

That is the exact picture of the hydrangea that they have at Lowe's.
BTW they're $10 I think at Lowe's which I may just buy one for an experiment.
Anyone grow climbing hydrangea??
Yep. I have about 4. They need full shade and lots of water.
Be aware, there are two types of climbing hydrangeas, the anomala petiolaris and the schizophragma which is more suited to the warm weather.
schizophragma??? Nice name. Split personality with a lot of phlegm?? My latin may be a little off.
I will check which one they are actually selling.
ROFL....a schizo plant...just what you need in the yard Core!
I'm further North, Zone 7b and I have 2 growing. One is in pretty close to full shade, it isn't doing too well. Struggling would be another word for it. The other gets dappled sunlight most of the day and its thriving.
