We've had a request at the helpdesk for a forum just for swaps and trades of poultry-related items (which could include eggs or chicks)
Everyone would have to realize that it would be handled just like the plant trading forums and any sales would be strictly prohibited. It would also be an 'at-your-own-risk' just like the other trading forums.
Please use this thread to discuss it and if there are any rules you'd like to implement, we'll talk about those as well. Our trading forums are subscriber-only, so I would suggest that this one be closed as well.
Talk about it and we'll follow the conversation. You can always ask Terry and myself if you have questions or want input.

Sounds interesting, but with the high price of shipping, I doubt it would be real busy.. I'd think if we are close to each other, we are already trading. :) I'd still like to see a trading forum happen.. just out of curiosity.
It sounds like an interesting idea, but with the cost of shipping, especially birds, I don't know how much it would really get used. I think ZZ's made a great point...Haystack

We had the request, so we're following through to see if it is a viable idea.
I wouldn't risk it unless I really knew the person. I bought 3 lg fowl silver Ameracauna and shipping was 92 dollars and the box was 25 dollars. no way would I risk spending that kind of money and have the other party not send their end of the trade and have no punishment for doing so.
It might work for eggs but we already do that here on this forum
I wouldn't mind trading poultry items that I make for other things that people have like hatching eggs..lol.
Edit to add what my poultry items I make: Chicken saddles, chicken diapers, totebgs with rooster designs on them,Aprons w chicken designs on them.etc. Some one was asking what I was making to trade on here.
