These are a friends chickens. We know the Rhode Island Red and Barred Rocks but don't know what kind of rooster he has. Does anyone know? Thanks!!

With beard it looks like a faverole,but not sure

See the blue legs and pea comb? Faverolles have a straight comb and feathered legs..

He looks eggs-actly like an EE! Although my friends has a darker reddish (almost RIR color) area on his wings where the EE has more of a buff color. Is that a thing that varies from bird to bird? Or would that indicate he's a mix of something?

I think Easter Eggers can be almost any combination of colors. As ZZ said the comb and blue legs (neither of which I can actually see) are diagnostic.
ZZ your right I had forgot about the feathered legs and I have two faverolles but they are girls.
I don't know what breed he is, but he sure is handsome!!
The beautiful thing about EEs is their amazing color combinations.. You never know what color they will be. He really is handsome!
