Found this site on line- while they offer many named varieties they also offer a mystery cutting (with good reviews) for substantial savings. I have never grown a plumeria before (didn't think I could) and do not care what color they are. I would like to see if they will actually grow before investing a lot of money. Opinions anyone?
Maui plumeria gardens
I have several and love them!!! I bring them inside mu sun room during cold weather and keep it heated. Belle
I love my plumeria!!! It really doesn't matter the color either. Once you start to collect them you always need more. Chef Mike is doing a coop on plumerias and you could pick some up cheap to start there.

Their website has a good selection of cuttings. I've already warned my hubby that I want cuttings from them for my birthday. I grow my plumerias in pots that are put out on my deck in full sun after last frost in the Spring, and brought in before our 1st frost in the Fall. They do well in pots here in 7b. Another source for cuttings that I've used in years past is Stokes Tropicals. Here's Jeannie Moragne that was planted as a cutting in 4/08 and finally bloomed in 8/10. Jeri11, thanks for the post about the co-op. Those are excellent prices, and I hope it gets approved.

Before you buy cuttings, read the stickys at the top of this page! They offer a wealth of info on how to care for/ start/ grow them. Many folks in colder climates dig them up every year and store them "bare root" over the winter. If you're not about "named" varieties, I'm sure many on this forum would send cuttings for postage. I have 2 NOIDs that I have to prune yearly, and I hate to just throw them in the dumpster.
I would love cuttings if anyone has extras. Please dmail me.
Thanks for everyones info.
Cem9165- your plumeria is BEAUTIFUL!
Occarol- would be very happy to send you postage for cuttings and if you know the name, even better.
My son is stationed in Hawaii, currently in Iraq. I do not think he would know how to take a cutting plus the ag. laws- don't want him arrested! If I had thought of it maybe I would have tried last time we were there- but with my luck it would be me arrested.
I found a branch at the car rental while in Hawaii, that was broken and they let me have it. I showed it to the crew on our ship and they let me on board with it. I went though customs with no problem and I came home on an airplane with it tucked away in my luggage.
Good for you- we flew out of Honolulu the only thing they let you take was the pre-packed pineapples. May try next time we go
Hiya Sis! Several years ago I purchased from Maui plumeria Garden. Jennifer's service of MPG is great. The price is reasonable. I would buy again from her in a heart beat if only I've room. Good lucks and enjoy everyone.
Hi Sis!!! I just bet your place in beautiful!!! I'm still coming to see Ya!!!!
I'd love to have you come to visit Jeri. I'm now trying to hardening the tropicals before I move them out to full sun condition.
Glad to hear about Maui vendor - think I'll take a chance on the mystery cutting. See if I can actually root one before spending the big bucks. Susan
Susan, the key to success rooting plumerias is good soil. I use 'cactus potting mix'. One that doesn't hold moisture. Another important factor is. You need to wait until the cuttings are callused over. Fresh cutting will rot easily. Sun exposure too is essential. Best of lucks and enjoy.
cornish2175, I would be happy to send you cuttings from my deep pink and large flowered white ones (NOID), but it will have to wait a few weeks, as they are just starting to break dormancy. If you want them, D-mail me your address.
Carol
