Didn't bloom on time

Montgomery, AL

Here is slow-poke semiminiature Irish Flirt. It was grown according to the 'grow for show countdown' just as all the others. Our local show was March 3-4 and not one bloom on this guy until now! Too late. Is this typical for this variety? Has anyone else had this kind of trouble?

Oh, Jamie . . . I know your pain. I didn't have one plant to enter in the state show back in November, because nothing had near enough blooms. Everything was beautiful 2 weeks later! Our club show is at the end of April, and I hope the blooms will still be looking good . . .

It sure is gorgeous now!! I'm not sure on your question, but I know that cultivar has won many awards in shows.

I followed the regular schedule for when to stop disbudding before a show. This was one a 3 plants that just didn't bloom by the time expected so I was wondering if that's peculiar to this variety.

I am sorry to say - they are like peeps with their own mind. Next year you want to know better and use this formula it won't work - have their own mind. Beautiful plant though.
You just have to grow more for show and then pick and choose which to take. It's such a game and i loved it.

I wish we lived nearby and I'd make you bring some of your gorgeous plants to our show.
