What are the signs and how is it treated?
Coccidiosis in chickens
Here is a good link... It needs to be treated immediately upon any symptoms showing up.. it can kill overnight..

It explained what it was. What do you do to cure it?
Most of the products sold for coccidia will control, but not eliminate it. I just looked, and find amprolium for cattle, but not listed for poultry. We used to use Albon for cats, but now it's ponazuril, compounded. It's the same ingredient as in the Marquis for horses, but it's VERY expensive. Toltrazuril (Baycox) used to be used, but I can;t find a source for it any more. Both the ponazuril and toltrazuril will kill it, the albon and amprolium only knock it back.
I'll see if I can find more and get back, but hopefully someone else will come along and be more helpful:)
Oh gosh.. I can't remember the name of the stuff.. but it will cure it in an afternoon... I'll get back to ya as quick as I can find the package.. (in storage)
This is what Catsy switched to... I can't remember the name of the other stuff, and it was hard to find locally.. I remember that!

Good to know, thanks.
coccidiosis will quickly be stopped withSulfadimethoxine. I have used it several time and it is very effective. You put it in the waterer for a week and they generally recover overnight but really should still be on it for a full seven day...Hay Also don't eat their eggs for at least two weeks after that...I usually feed their eggs back to them with out any problem...

Hay, I think that is what I used for some other illness before but mine is in storage too and I cannot find it to save my life. I also could not get any at TSC. I don't think coccidosis is my problem, just wanted to cover all the bases.
