Coconut coir

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

I purchased two blocks of coir from BB a year or so ago that I never used does anyone remember what the base price was? (not including shipping) I want to list them on craigslist but want to be fair with the cost.

Pembroke Pines, FL(Zone 10a)

The price was $9.95 but it was the shipping cost plus personal problems that forced him out of business. You can buy direct from the name on the label if you wish...

OK, thanks Tplant just didn't what to overcharge someone for them. Has to be someone here in Houston that wants to grow orchids or use it, so shouldn't be difficult to sell

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 10b)

araness, don't advertise it for orchids. Orchid growers use chips, not the finer stuff. I have both, but don't need any more at this time.

ok, thanks I'll take a picture and try to be as descriptive as possible..it either gets sold or gets trashed as I have to clean out the garage before it gets hot.

Again, many thanks

Araness: Spray -N- Grow sells three gro brics that make 2 cubic feet of media for $8.95. I've never tried theirs, so don't know what the quality of theirs is compared to Bob's but I know Bob's is really soft and of fine quality. I bought coir pellets from two companies this year, one was fine, the other was no good. I know one bric of BB's makes a lot of media.

Just had to add this as a PS, today, I took my coconut coir bricks and threw them into some empty totes, the ones I used to use for self watering containers, and that usually hold my potting mix for the next season. I left them out, as it is going to storm and storm and rain tonight and tomorrow and when it stops raining, I should have some all ready to use. I placed a tote beside an EB or container each that needed some potting mix. Will add the perlite to the coir when it stops raining. I hope to have my 65 tomatoes and 40 peppers transplanted before the end of next week.

Those look impressive. And here I was happy with my plans of PVC pipe trellis for my cukes this year! We got one day of freezing temps, and thankfully I had only planted up half my EBs, so used the other EBs for putting over the EBs I had planted, it protected them pretty well, the rest I just used pots to throw over the plants or put plastic bags over the plants which I promptly removed when the sun started to rise the next morning.
