FOR THOSE WHO DID NOT GET TO GO TO THE BOSTON FLOWER SHOW
Thanks for sharing!
thanks for the pics!
great photography & interesting ideas.
nice john!
Nice photos, John. Thanks for sharing. I miss you guys. I hope you can make it to my RU this year. I haven't officially announced it, but I'm pretty sure I'll have it on July 17th. I might have one on June 12th as well for those who can't make it in July. July seems to be a tough time for people to come.
I loved the pine pavers, though I doubt they'd last long. I saw some very large cement pavers at a house in a neighboring town that they were selling for $5 each. They had to be 2' in diameter, but they were really nice looking. If they are selling some this year I might just pick some up. I may stop by there and ask.
Karen
We enjoyed the still shots, though.
Very nice, John! Looks like a great show with some nice ideas. Thanks.
Did you get to Amateur Horticulture?
Martha
102 views here and 10 comments. 41 hits on the blog and only one comment. I guess the bad winter has some of you still in hibernation. Better watch out and get out of that cave the bears are starting to wake up now. Anyways thanks to all who visited, hope you enjoyed your visit. thanks to all who left a reply or made a comment.
Hope everyone is more talkative tomorrow. Have a great day,
John

I enjoyed your pictures here, but have never been on the blog type area. Perhaps a lot of us older types have not.
Thank you for sharing the photos !!!
I used to go to the Show every year back in the 1980's, so I enjoyed the "virtual" tour you provided.
The stone arches were a new feature to me.
(McDonald's, take note, lol!)
irisMA, you say you have never been on a blog type site, but you have Daves garden is like a blog. You seem to have mastered Daves Garden so a blog should be a piece of cake. If you click on this link http://www.jwlwgardens.com/?p=3978 it will take you to Liza and John's Garden. You will arrive on a post about Boston Flower show. Then scroll all the way to the bottom and you will be able to leave a comment. You do not need to have a web address but you do need a name of some kind and a valid Email address. Email is kept in confidence and only used by the blog. If comments are not open there are instructions in the side bar as to how to open them. Daves Garden has a side bar also.
Ok now that I have scared you give it a try and just say hi if nothing else.
Have a great evening,
John
PS I am one of the older types. Been around since before dirt. 73 in June.

LOL! You're funny, John. I enjoyed your and Liza's visit last summer. Hope we can do it again this year. Maybe I could come down there and see your place, too. That would be fun. I know of some daylily growers in NH that I would like to visit. Will have to find out if they are near you. I think they are in the northwestern part of the state.
Karen
john i really enjoyed the photo's and did copy paste the stone arch's - the first shot of three is my personal favorite - although did not really care for the "man made" look
Got some ideas. Thanks. I fully expect Wha to have an added feature in his walls. Such fun!
I already have two stone arches:) one on a wall and a larger one free standing in a bed. anymore and i may have to build a drive through:)
I know -- your stone arches are great - I vote for the drive-through. Just wanted you to add more and more and more .... :))))) You have a great eye for stonework, Wha
Bill, you can sell rocks at your drive thru.....
Karen
nope
That bubbling rock is great! I'd love to have one.
Karen
nice
I missed them all this year.
I started this post to let others see the Boston Flower Show. I am sure a lot of you did go to the show, but a lot did not. Also wanted to get a little action going on Dave's Garden as I was the one that was in hibernation. To all of you who responded that's great. However have not heard from any of the Connecticut gang or the ones from Maine, they must be still be asleep in the cave's with the Bears.
Have a great night,
John
JWLW ---
I've been enjoying this thread because I have the fondest of memories of the Show, a highlight in my life annually (I'm over 50) !!!
Your efforts are tremendously appreciated !!!
No flower shows for me either, but I did get to Longwood Gardens a few weeks ago while they had their Orchid Extravaganza going on.
I would love a stone bubbler. Would mosquitos get in to the reservoir of water? They are like birds down here and are very attracted to me. I'd love to have a screen house also, so I could at least enjoy the garden in the evening and morning and all the day long.
Jan, get the mosquito dunks to put in standing water. They are bt, and kill the larvae without harming birds and such.
Karen
Yippee! I do have the dunks. I'll put that project on my wish list.
Oh, nice! Love vertical gardens.
Karen
nice!
