I'm BACK!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Many of you may not know me, but the ole timers will! I just love Brugmansias! Right now I am planning something for a small porch, and I could squeeze a Brug in a corner, but it has to love shade, and I'm not altogether sure if there is one out there that could handle this shade I have. I heard about the snow white, or something like that. Actually - even the foilage in a tall form would be pretty. I guess I just need to try. Does anyone have any sav seeds or cuttings they could part with?

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Karrie,

The only Brugs that I know that will do well in shade are Snowbank and Miner's Claim. They are both patented and shared cuttings of them are a no-no. They don't come true from seeds, so you would have to purchase them as plants.

Any other Brug would tend to get leggy and they may not bloom or give you very few blooms. Inca Sun and Logee's newest cultivar, Angels' Summer Dream (I think that's the name.), tend to stay small. They night work for you. I've read claims that some of the newer cultivars are shorter.

I had a disaster in my greenhouse this winter. Surviving Brugs are having to start from the roots. Otherwise, I would send you some to try.
