Texas Mountain Laurel

Rockwall, TX

I really want one. Does anyone know where I can get one right now? Preferably in the DFW area.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Try Redenta's in Arlington or Dallas.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I saw them last year at Weston Gardens. You could call to be sure they have them.

Irving, TX(Zone 8a)

Try North Haven Garden www.nhg.com

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Covington's in Rowlett might be closer. Give them a call at 972-475-5888. Or Rhonde's in Garland (my favorite organic nursery) at (972) 864-1934.

Ok, mine is only about 6" tall (since emerging after winter).
Is this normal?
I'm not sure how to prune (or even if I should) ~ This should be a TREE, right?

You don't need to prune at this stage, it is very slow growing and it needs the leaves for energy.
It is a tree but its natural shape is more like a shrub, although it can be pruned later to tree shape.

Brady, TX(Zone 8a)

yea, I had two dead looking 'stalks' about 6 inches tall; had just about given up and thought about tossing but potted them instead to wait and see -- lo-and-behold one stalk has sprung several new leaves!!!!

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

There are lots of plants sales coming up. They usually have a few.

Yucca Do also has them right now.
