Just got a message on Facebook from Smockette telling me her dad passed away this morning. They will be going to a funeral home in the morning to make arrangements. Please pray God wrap her family in his arms at this sad time.
I wish they were closer to Houston so I could attend. I will post if and when I get more info.
Please read (Smockette)
Thank you for letting us know. I'm so sorry to read this. Praying for their family.
So sad for her family. I remember her at the RU last year when he was having surgery.
Her Dad and Mom live here in Fort Worth and more than likely the funeral home plans she referred to will be local. I just saw my email on fb as well. Hopefully I will be able to attend the services. She said that they had just put him in the hospice last Friday and he passed away this Friday, it was sudden but not totally unexpected. He is free of pain now. Hugs and prayers for the family.
I hope some of you in Fort Worth can attend. I am not sure if we can take up a collection to send flowers Dmail me what anyone thinks.
Sent you a dmail.
Sent you a reply. Thanks.
I am so sorry too, bless them.
Update:
Had a call from Smockette and arrangements have been made. Her Dad Perry Tatum's services will be Wednesday the 23rd, at 1pm here in Fort Worth at Shannon Rose Hill 7301 E. Lancaster. Burial will be at 7300 S. Cooper in Arlington.
She is sad but doing ok, concerned about her Mother and family right now. They were shocked at his quick passing since he had only been in hospice for less than a week. Friends, please make plans to attend if possible to show our support.

What day is the funeral?
Thanks for catching that Stephanie, I corrected it. Services will be Wednesday.
Thanks for the info. Will have to check the work schedule to see if I can get away.
I am sorry, but can not be there Wednesday. My condolences to Smockette and her family.
I will be attending the services but not the burial.
So sorry for their loss very sad!
Please let her know I am keeping them all in my thoughts and prayers I can't attend but I will be there in spirit
Thanks, I know she appreciates knowing we are thinking of her.
I have them in my thoughts and prayers. I cannot attend as I am on 24hr call at work until Friday morning.
Loss is always a shock, no matter the circumstances. Prayers are with her and her family. God's Grace will cover them.
I won't be able to attend.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Smockette. I never had the pleasure of meeting your father. Your mother still stands out as one of the sweetest and most endearing women I've meet over the round-up years. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your mother and the rest of your family.
Alyce, I too am saddened to hear of your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers as well.
Patricia
I will be going to the services.
Sylvia!
I think Linda is OK... actually I think they all OK now that the hardest part is over. Her father fought a courageous battle for six months. The doctors told them he had two weeks to two months, two days before he died. I don't think they were ready for that ... but God knows best.
so sorry to hear of your loss Smokette. My prayers are with you and your family.
Well said Sylvia. I won't make the service because I am working. I hope the service gives Alyce, her mom and family a chance to celebrate his life as well.
The auditor showed up today and will be here through Wednesday, so I won't be able to attend the funeral.
See you Wednesday Sylvia.
Others, just keep them in your thoughts prayers.
My thoughts and prayers for her and her family; even though we've never met. I can't go anywhere right now, the car needs working on.

Smockette,
So sorry for your loss. Just got the news. I will pray for strength for you and your family during this difficult time.
Linda
I attended the service and it was really nice. Gave some hugs to momma Doris and Linda Alyce too. Smock came and there was a great turnout of her Dad's friends, and family.
I've been away from DG for a while, and just saw this!! I am so sorry, for this trial Linda, but I am heartened, that you are now on the up and up, from losing your Daddy. He has fought a very long fight!! And now he is at rest, and peace, with NO pain!! I Thank God for that, and I thank God you are my friend!! LOVES!
A friend of Smockette's mom died in Mississippi and her and Smock are headed that way. I talked to her this morning.
She said they had told her Dad the cancer was back and nothing they could do. He went into hospice and did not live an entire week. She is still in shock but doing as well as she can.
My hugs to you and yours Smockette, my prayers go to you and your family, may you find strength and blessings in the love of your friends whom wish you heartfelt sympathies.
Love & Hugs to you and Mom!!
You have my number Linda, call me anytime 24/7 i'm here for you. Come see me when you come up to see your mom if you can, ok?
Deb
