Just wanted to warn everyone, found one on me after a walk last week... take care!
Ticks are out already
Thanks for the reminder .. I'm always checking myself for ticks but haven't started this year .. I'm looking now.
X
the dog has picked them up all winter long! so frustrating...took him to the vet yesterday and had them change his tick meds as obviously the last wasn't working at all....one bad thing about having so much woods in your yard :) or wait...is it your yard in the woods
My pooch has had two already and that is a first for us, he has never had any before. He can't use Comfortus (sp?), he hates K9 Advantix and so do I because it is so greasy, and they have taken Promeris off the market. I wound up spraying the entire yard and all the brush at the edges with Neem. We'll see what happens now.
I have a few dogs but rarely find any on them... knock on wood!! I am always one of the first in the area as far as humans to get ticks on me - they love me so :-( I just like to warn everyone to start checking. Enjoy the beautiful weather!!
Yup! I picked 4 of the little buggers off me today...three of them had already "dug in". I HATE those things! They're sneaky.
Be careful to get them out safely and completely, you dont want to leave any part of the tick embedded or it could cause problems. I have had tick 'bites' that got infected due to that, thankfully not too bad nor anything serious, but please watch out!
Wishing everyone a happy and safe spring/summer.
