Free confederate jasmin

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi ya'll. I've been gone for awhile, but I'm back and I have some confederate jasmin that just isn't going to work where I thought it would. I'm hoping somebody in my area wants it, because I don't want to have to mess with shipping and I doubt I can get to a round-up this year. If you live in SA it's possible we could meet you somewhere if you are interested.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Nice to see you posting. I remember you from when I first joined. Who can forget such a magical name?

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

lol Bananna. I hadn't thought about my name being magical, but thanks.:)

I sure hope somebody wants this conf jasmin. I really like this plant, but it just won't work where it is and I have nowhere else to put it. I actually have 2 of them that I don't need. Now I have to figure out what to replace them with.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

This is the place to post. Does it have a scent? I hope you find a home for it.

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, it definitely has a scent. An awesome scent in fact. We have one at our house. These two I need to get rid of are on our business property. It only blooms in spring, but we really look forward to it every year.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Mary Lee, I have missed you! I had the same jasmine for a while, but our winters did it in. I wish we were still having an RU near you, but there aren't many RU's being planned for this spring. My sister and I are hoping to take a week-end trip to Fredericksburg this spring. Maybe we can drop in and see you at your new shop!

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey Pat! Hi. I've missed you too! How is everybody at your house? I sure hope you can stop and see us. By all means let me know when you are coming. We are here most of the time. Can't afford to be any where else.:)

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi Mary Lee...so good to see you on DG again. I love my Confederate Jasmine and it made it though the tough winter we had this year with only the loss of a few leaves. The smell is devine when it is in bloom and you walk through the arbor.

I'd love to have these wonderful sounding plants, but don't know when a trip to F'burg will be feasible/possible for me (trying to get moved to a new home)!

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi Sheila.:) It's good to be back. I kills me to dig these plants up. If we had time to build another trellis or arbor I would rather keep them, but there's no chance of that now.

Txgardener, I don't know exactly how far Brady is from here, but we are go to Marble Falls occasionally (we are going Friday). How far are you from there?

For anybody else in the area like Kerrville or Boerne, perhaps we could arrange a meeting. I mentioned SA specifically just because we make frequent trips there for business. Boerne is on the way and Kerrville is a very short trip from here.

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

silverfluter, I know those are deer resistant and have a wonderful idea for them if TX_gardener or anyone else hasn't claimed them first. :)

Brady, TX(Zone 8a)

silverfluter, Brady's about 70 miles north of F'burg and not much closer to M. Falls. I enjoy trips to your area, including K'ville and I have a friend who lives in Boerne. What's your timeframe for moving the C. jasmine? Maybe my friend could foster them until I can fetch 'em. Let me know.

Hey girl, I have been gone a while, I was going to go to Fredericksburg to the seed farm hopefully soon, and would love to have your vine. I lost mine last winter, and did not know they were deer proof. I was planning to pick up another one. The one I had bloomed in the spring and the fall. Thanks, let me know if you still have it. I live in Canyon Lake.

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Txgardener, I hope to dig them up tomorrow and put them in a pot. DH makes lots of trips to SA on business and sometimes even in Boerne. Where does your friend live? Or maybe she could meet him somewhere that would be easy to get to. If not I may have to give them to Careyana since she was the second hand that went up. Krispi, you are third in line.

Btw, I trimmed them back today and discovered that one of them apparently had a very hard time last winter. I don't know if there is enough of it left alive to bother with, but I'll pot it up anyway.

Regardless of who gets them, if ya'll are ever in Fredericksburg, I would really enjoy meeting another DG'er.:)

Brady, TX(Zone 8a)

Mary Lee, pot 'em up for me... I'm making a shopping list that'll probably take me to the F'burg area sometime in the next several days, but if not then I will send contact info to you for my friend in Boerne. Thanks much.

Ok. I didn't get to it today. Hopefully tomorrow.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Mary Lee, my sister and I spent a few days last year in Borne and shopped F'burg, SA and went zip lining in Marble Falls area. I met renatelynne in Borne and took her some plants via someone else and myself. If I had known you were there I would have looked you up. We had a great sister road trip.

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Sheila it sounds like you had a really good trip.:) If you ever come back this way by all means stop by.

I had to ask my DD what zip lining is. What she told me I have a hard time seeing you do. Can you explain to me what that is.

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Oh ziplining is so much fun. They strap you into a harness (if you've ever seen 'rock climbing' it's very similar), put a helmet on your head, give you a pair of heavy gloves and connect a big carabiner to your harness. You head to some tree tops (usually) where they connect the hook on your waist to a wire above you, and you basically "ZIP" along the wire to another stand in trees. It's so much fun. And no, you're never too old, either. :)

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Here is the link. It costs us $75 and I would do it again. Loved it!
It is not far from you. http://www.cypressvalleycanopytours.com/canopy-tours.php We had an awsome guide named Robert, he made everything fun.
There is one in NE Texas that I would like to do also.

Sounds interesting. Marble Falls would be a good area for that. There is some very rugged country up there. Sounds like fun too. Maybe some day.

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

I have been trying to get hold of Tx gardener. If anybody knows her phone # or email could you let her know I need to talk to her please. I know she's busy, but I really need to move these jasmin to their new home as soon as possible.

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

Hi MaryLee! We met at the College Station RU last spring.
Enjoyed it very much. Wish I lived closer, I'd help you dig those up even.
Looks like you found a good home for them ;-)

I've been away awhile too. It's good to be back.

Cajun2/ Carole

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, I remember you Cajun. That was the last RU I was able to get to. I really miss those things.

I got 'em dug up and just heard from Tx Gardener. She's moved into her house and her car is finally empty she says. I think she'll come get them soon.

I'm hoping we can do another RU next spring. I couldn't go this spring even if there was one and fall is even worse.

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes, that really was a good time. My son came with me ;-)

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, I remember him. How is he?

Dahlonega, GA

Sheila if I was 21 again , I'd drive up there to kidnap that Robert . What pretty blue eyes . Which lady in the picture is you ? Sounds like a real fun thing to do . Playing Tarzan and Jane was always a favorite game . It's a wonder us kids survived .

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL Digger! Robert was taken....his wife packed his lunch and with a marker put "awesome guide" on the bag...that is why we called him that all day! LOL! I am on the right, my younger sister is on the left.
We also rode in cars with no seat belts back then!

Dahlonega, GA

Oh well , a day late and a dollar short , but then , I'm not 21 either . Lol
