A Tigerswallowtail!
Hoooray! My first B'fly for the season!
Spring is definitely on the way. :-)
whoohoo,,,, that's a beauty. Mine must be next...
nice rainy day here.
Oh what a beauty. I have to wait awhile, but I'm ready.

I just saw another one out in the garden just now. I'm working on setting out milkweeds left over from last year out to the garden. Anticipating Monarch. Although those won't be here until much later. :)
I haven 't seen any b'flies yet, but saw dragonflies this weekend
It has been real nice and Spring-like here. I saw an orange with blackspot butterfly flittering by yesterday. More cabbage-white butterflies too (I think). Hope you see them soon.
Congrats Lily_love! Beautiful picture too.
It is misting and cold here today, but warmer this weekend. You pictures made me smile.
Oh Sheila, I'm so glad you like the pics. Glad to share. I'm planting all kind of plants, some hostplants such as parsleys, just got a Pentas (tender perennual here) ect. Oh, I saw a Pasiflora poke through the ground the other day. That's the earliest of Passi to peak through. I'm so pleased.
I saw my first Monarch of the season yesterday, it was very much tattered and torn, but she found my milkweed right away. I hope she laid some eggs.
Josephine.
Josephine, good for you, hope you find a few eggs. I just had the Monarch chart pulled up today to show my granddaughter where they were sighted. They have a chart where eggs have been located. I didnt know it was there. GD has better eye sight than I do.
Dixie
I saw my first b'fly of the season today. A beautiful pipevine swallowtail. She was in perfect condition. Too early here, I think, for monarchs.
Congrats Josephine on your first Monarch. I'm excited for you. Dixie, It's got to be a delightful experience to see things through the children's eyes. Share you love of nature with yours and they'll have it for life! Crit, I'm excited for you too with your pipevine swallowtail. Like you, it will be awhile before I get to see my Monarch, but I already have blooming Milkweeds that are currently being hardening off to be set out in the garden.
Great news everyone! I pulled in my first GST off of a citrus tree yesterday. Got more eggs but only one cat that I see as yet.
Oh how exciting for you Sheila, please keep us posted with your precious cat. I've kept several lomon trees in my collection for years. Never have I seen one GST. I'm about to give up on those thorny plants for a 'measely' few fruit every other years. lol. I'm excited for you however.
Another black TST in the field yesterday when we participated in the Island clean up around our neighborhood.
