Fence is up to keep pups out and new beds are ready

Flower Mound, TX

Greens survived the Winter freezes we had here in North Dallas, so lettuce, kale, spinach, and chard salads will continue til the Texas Summer hits..

Tomato seedlings are out. Gotu Kola and Jiaogulan herb seedlings are out (keeping my fingers crossed with these). And Lemon Balm is coming back nicely. Pepper seedlings still under lights, but will be out later this weekend. Let the Spring season begin!

Nice garden. And I thought my backyard garden space was small. Just shows what you can do with raised beds in a contained area..

That's beautiful! I made the switch to all raised beds this year, my back isn't getting any younger. I have a mere garden wire/metal post fence, it's to keep my dogs and chickens out. It doesn't look like much now but once everthing is growing it will be nice. I saw decorate fence panels at lowes. but I wanted my fence to be practical to knock down if needed.

When I first put it in. I wasn't sure about what direction to make my rows so I had perpendicular parts. Now that I know they are all north south.

THis is it today, in raised bed form. I still have a ways to go. Space is tight, I made them far enough apart to run a mower between them if needed but there really isn't much room to manuver one. Same with my wheelbarrow. I plan on mulching heavily between beds. Then I can scoop up the mulch when it becomes compost. I really won't need a wheelbarrow so it shouldn't be an issue.
