We recently had a major scare when Zapita got out and was hit by a truck. Since then we have taken steps to try and prevent this from happening again while keeping in mind lifestyle and her personal freedom. We've purchased locks and spring hinges for the back gate as well as a crate to keep by the front door. Our last crate was a Petmate brand and while not extravagant, it was sturdy enough for our needs and was roomy enough inside that she was comfortable. I received the newest version today from Amazon and it's horrible. Not only have they made the inside smaller (although the crate is the same size) the plastic is so thin it would offer no protection while riding in the car. I was amazed at how cheap this version looked when sitting beside the older one. Does anyone have suggestions on brands?
