Can anybody tell me the secret for growing this plant. I have been trying for over a year to get a start growing.

It grows very little, I rescue the plant by rooting one of the tiny stolons but it never gets farther than a tiny starter.

I am not going to give up. There has to be a way.

try wicking your plant, but make sure you have pearlite in the bottom of the pot before you wick it, so it does not sit in water. I use a very light mix by adding pearlite to the mix in addition to some in the bottom of the pot.

There was a question posed on a Gessie forum about Alsobia Cygnet leaves yellowing, developing brown leaf stems and falling off. The answers from the 'experts' were that cygnet goes semi-dormant in winter and does this normally (that it naturally is deciduous). They said growth would pick back up in the Spring. They love sun, or top shelf of the light stand. I've grown all with and without much humidity and it seemed to have no effect as far as I could tell.

The dormancy theory makes sense to me...My consistent experience has been that the plant growth stagnates for a time, followed by a long period of rapid lush growth and blooming. As winter begins, I will start finding increasing amounts of brown leaves and stems, to the point I cut the entire plant back to only a few stems/leaves. It is a beautiful plant and worth the seasonal effort.
