Our Silkie roo got in a fight with our Polish roo and got his eye hurt. Right now, we can't tell if he has lost sight in the eye or not, but it looks ikky, maybe a little pussy and some brusing. What can we put on the eye to heal it or help so it doesn't get infected worse?
Eye advice
Neosporin is an excellent sauve and antibiotic. You might even want to cover it with vet bandage for 24 hours, and then let the air get to it...Hay
I hope there is no infection already.. that is not good.. I'd wash it well and do what Haystack says. Just make sure everything is super clean. Good luck! Eyes can be a hard one to heal..
I've read several places that used neosporin, I haven't used that myself..... I have some eye ointment... dang, I can't remember the name.. maby terramycin ointment?? Some feed stores might have it...
Neosporin, why didn't I think of that? We put some on it and will put a little more on tomorrow. Hope it helps.
