Was a definite shock tho, after spending this month boouncing around Colo, Wyo, Utah, Idaho, and Wash state, warms my heart to see green! This is Ladd- I84 between Meacham and Pendleton, Oregon
Lovely Gardens I see
You make my teeth ache to be back on the road in my 18 wheeler . Too old and different D H now but I never got tired of seeing what was on the other side of the hill , or what was around the next curve . Have to settle for vacation trips and Colorado will be the ticket in July .
Coldest wind I ever felt was in Utah , after stopping to walk the dogs . It froze before it hit the ground . lol
Thanks for the photos . Great ! .
Sliding thru the pass tween storms, and avalanche controls and lucking out at NOT chaining up!!! This is Ooops! Snoqualmie is I90, did that up there too, rats. This is Hood River just east of Dufor, Ore heading toward Portland and this is the stands of what I guess are river birches planted east of The Dalles, ON I84! These days they have as many wind fan 'stands' as 1000 Palms, and Wash says they prefer their river generators.
Didn't see that lake on Snoqualmie ! They held us up at the top and stll had to put on chains .The most memorable was the HUGH tree trunks on the side of the road and the lit up ski areas on the left . It was so quiet , the only sound was a trucker coming up saying he was spinning rubber and "Give me a nudge" They had those concrete barriers between the lanes of trafficup and down covered with snow . Black as pitch that night and so beautiful, no wonder I missed that lake .At that time , we was in a mobile home toter , bobtail, coming out of Browning , Mt .That was in the seventies
Keep posting those pictures , I love them and wish I had digital back then .The East is pretty , but the wild of the West is my love .
I guess the reason I didn't see the lake was , there was so much snow , it looked like a big snow covered pasture . giggle
I would like to have a camper on the back of our 4cylinder pickup and spend the year just traveling the back roads and hiways in the west, sleeping in the back , camping out , and seeing God's creations .Probably ought to opt for at least a 6 cylinder for the mountains , forgive me , I was thinking of the fuel prices .
My dad has always had a traveling bug too, he rented a van that was outfitted with kitchen, bunks, private, narrow, but better than the coffin sleepers we had in the 70's WITH amenities, and drove himself. He turned 80 last month. hmmm, I think this is Idaho- tween Twin Falls and Utah state line I84
Lived in Ca. and Nevada most of my life so went to everyone of the places you have in the pics was very fortunate to work long enough at a 2 companies to get into that 3-4 and 4-5 vacations weeks so went to the tourist spots untill later in my life when I caught desert fever and beat around every dirt road I could in Nevada
I spent some time in Quartzite a few years ago , on the Cal. side .Overlooking Q. the lights of town and the traffic up and down the moutain on the east side was breathtaking at night.
Gotta run into town , see you in a few hours .
