Immature Caroline Wren?

Wappingers Falls, NY

Is this an immature carolina wren? For want of a better description it doesn't look as smooth as other carolina wrens I have seen.

Thank you as always for any help.

I don't know if it's a juvenile/immature but it sure looks like a Carolina Wren to me. Scroll down and take a look at some of the photo's in Bird Files for comparison:

For that time of year I would say yes to a juvenile Carolina Wren.

Definitely Carolina Wren, but an adult. Juveniles fledge in late spring, and by the end of the summer are already in adult plumage, so you can't have juveniles at this time of year.

If it is looking a bit 'less smooth', I'd guess it got its feathers ruffled in one way or another.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'd taken this last summer. Thanks for all the replies.

Thought I seen some skin along the mouth, really to hard to tell though.
