Sure does look like that to me. So my question then is how would this suddenly appear one year in one tiny spot and never appeared anywhere else on the property? If it produces seed at all I can see how birds would randomly drop them but if it's a bulb as you mentioned then I am puzzled.

If they are happy the area they grow in can be covered with black seeds.
I used to have those when I lived in Boston. They are a beautiful electric blue and mine spread everywhere, making a blue carpet in the spring.
Suprised its growing here, the like cold and bloom in the damp cool spring up north.
I'm still curious how it survived at my old place. Hot, Dry, deep sugar sand and in full sun.
I am not a 100% sure but I really think that is the correct ID. Perhaps there are different species of squill?
