Hi PalmBob. Are you familiar with Echeveria Tolimanensis? I didn't look too hard because mine looked like the 3 photos already posted just with more color.

I am not familiar in person but I did look online and saw this one that matches it in color and form 4th set down on bottom row M http://www.plugconnection.com/downloads/tesserabrochure.pdf and this one too http://www.flickr.com/photos/30367913@N00/3795701850/.

But I have no clue other than these and how it was labeled of course.

The first site just lists the plant as Echeveria hybrid whatever... which could mean Graptopetalum is the other plant in the hybrid... The second photo is interesting and the flowers certainly look like they could be Echeveria flowers (though Graptoverias have Echeveria-like flowers as well...). I just don't know of any Echeverias that have that thick, rounded leaves, do you? Echeveria leaves are typically sharp-edged and fluted. Graptoveria leaves are rounded and dull-edged typically, though some have very Echeveria-like leaves. I am not an expert, though.

I did find a photo reference for Echeveria tolimanensis, a fat-leaved Mexian species with interesting spines at the tips of the leaves... there is no mention in either of my Echeveria books for haagai... no idea where that name came from. But E tolimanensis is an actual species... is this plant then a hybrid of it?

Well "fat leaved" matches! LOL I agree on the leaves but all the top leaves do look more fluted with the bottom ones more rounded and fat.

So when it says Echeveria hybrid Haagai Tolimanensis that means it is a hybrid with Echeveria haagai 'Tolimanensis' as 1 of its parents and a non echeviera as the other? Does that mean it is cross species?

I see on google lots of growers are growing Echeveria hybrid 'Haagai-Tolimanensis' and looks now from 2010.

And this looks like mine. http://picasaweb.google.com/108321593401990703616/PackTrials2010PlugConnection#5458755398552134482

I am also seeing other echeverias with hybrid in the name. So a whole new, would it be genus is developing? X echeveria?

Shoot, did you look thru the photos from these Pack Trials? I wonder how I could wrangle a way to go. I bet you need to be a wholesaler. So cool!

Speaking of echeveria leaves, I was at a nursery today and saw a new echeveria to me. Echeveria Elegans Blue. Have you seen it? I only found 1 reference online though I did not look hard. http://www.robinsnestflowers.com/savvy_succulents.htm

And the leaves are similar to the echeveria I posted above, rounded.

Of course I had to get one. Looks like a good filler plant and some had lots of pups. Plus that color is always a plus.

Nice looking plant... doesn't match the description of Echeveria tomalinensis, but it's close.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Which when are you referring to? The Echeveria hybrid Haagai Tolimanensis or the Echeveria Elegans Blue?

So do you think Echeveria hybrid Haagai Tolimanensis should get its own listing in PFs?

Acton, CA(Zone 8b)

not until you can find a reputable source that also lists it that way.

Hey guys, I'm fairly certain the correct name for this one is x Pachyveria 'Haagai Tolimanensis,' that's how it's labeled in my collection, at least. IMO, the chunky sepals on the flowers in the linked photo are a pretty dead giveaway that there's some Pachyphytum in the lineage.

Cheers!

I have no clue. I couldn't find any mention of x Pachyveria 'Haagai Tolimanensis on Google though I see a lot come s up for Echeveria hybrid Haagai Tolimanensis.
