We have been enjoying a wonderful pre-spring thaw/warm up here in the No GA mountains, but of course it won't last. I want to plant carrots and beets, but will they survive or should I wait another month?
Thanks.
Carrots, is it too early in zone 6b? What about beets?
They will probably survive, If you have consistent moisture, but will take longer to emerge. I would wait a couple weeks. maybe til the second week of March. Frost won't hurt them, but sometimes germination is affected by fluctuating conditions.

Thanks Farmer Dill. I will take your advice. It's hard wait when it's this warm and sunny, but I will stick with peas and spinach for now.
roseone33 - I'm experimenting with beets.
I have eight that were transplanted out on Feb 16th. They seem to have slowed/stopped growing. Hopefully they are putting down roots.
I have more transplants ready to go into the garden tomorrow.
The weather here has been in the mid to upper sixties lately, but it looks as though it's going to cool down again.
