I have 2 flowering sennas that are just too leggy. They are about 7 feet tall by 6 feet wide now. The leaves & flowers are only at the ends of 4 - 5 foot long skinny branches and they are weak. They took a little hit from the 10 days of below freezing nights we had a few weeks ago. Most of the leaves turned brown and fell off, leaving all the seeds still attached. There are green leaves up to about 1/3 up the tree. Should I prune everything all the way back to the green leaves in order to make them more bushy? Or should I just cut the branches back to half the length? Any suggestions? Thank you, gardeners!
Pruning Flowering Senna
You can prune those anyway you like, mainly to shape the shrub the way you like it, I prune the branches about half to make it more compact.
