We have a variety of palms that have been in the ground for close to two months and suddenly, as in the past day, they all are turning brown. We haven't had a lot of rain (in the FL Keys) but they get watered almost daily. Literally some leaves are turning brown at the tops, some have suddenly turned solid brown. It is very strange and very sudden. I don't know if they are all experiencing shock at the same rate or being over watered/underwatered or a bug or poison. Please help! We really don't want to lose all of our precious palms!
Palms are all turning brown!
a bit late....but what is happening now to your palms? Is is salt winds by any chance?
Also, what kind of palms are they? Where I live had a major coconut palm blight nearly 8 years ago (Northern Honduras). Although it hit all coconut palms of all ages and sizes. The fronds would turn yellow and/or brown, fall down, and leave a matchstick coming out of the sand. Sad and unsightly it was. Until they were all eventually cut down or termited down.
I hope it's not that serious! Could always be a worm or bug though.
Try using palm nutritional spray it's a systemic application or a foliar app. great for leaf browning and frizzletop of palms one container makes 32 gallons, Victoria
