False Variegation

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

I get this occasionally on some of brugs in winter where some leaves will variegate.
Into spring, it has gone away. This time it is 'Natascha' who is throwing some variegation.
I assume stress is causing it.

It's interesting that veins form the outer edge of each pale blotch.

Even though its temporary its kind of cool...

Interesting topic. Thanks for sharing your photo. So can one tell the difference between false variegation from regular/true variegation by the more defined areas (for lack of a better word lol) on the leaf? That leaf seems to have straight blocks of differently shaded areas....
I mean other than the fact that is would turn back totally green.

I have the same thing going on right now with Mon Amour Du Mariel....Plant is healthy, Ph in the soil is fine...and the plant right now is in a major growth spurt but every leaf (old and new) are showing this type of variegation
