I live in the DFW area. Does anyone know where I can purchase carpet roses, in particular, Flower CarpetŪ SCARLET.
Thank you.
Carpet Roses
someone on the web named Willow Creek Gardens, locale unknown, had some listed...
I'm thinking of getting some too. I am surprised that I haven't seen any locally. Does anyone have experience growing them in North Texas?
I've heard good things about the Flower Carpet roses in general. I've not grown them myself. Monrovia is distributing them. They state on their website that Calloway's carries the one you want. Here is the link so you can call them: http://www.monrovia.com/find-a-garden-center/?zip=75103&item_number=3631&x=31&y=7. Hope that helps.
Good luck with your rose quest and be sure to report back on how it goes and how it grows!
Thanks Terri :)I'll be sure to let you know.
I bought the Flowers Carpet roses 4 years ago. They did really beautiful untill last year.
They carried the "Rose Rosette" disease. I didn't realized untill it was too late and they infected half of my roses.
I had to remove three 20' climbers !!!
One of those Flower Carpet rose did dye last year ... but didn't pay much attention. All the other ones got infected from this disease. I had to remove all of them.
I trimmed down a lot all the rest of my roses with the hope that they will be ok.
I normally am very carefull on buying my roses . I only buy roses that are heirloom or disease resistance (EarthKind) ...
But I couldn't resist those carpet roses ... $##@@!!!!
Good luck to you.
