Please allow me to introduce Oxley (aka Kitty, OxMonster, UberGoober, etc.). He's almost 6, and he's proven to be quite a handful in the health department over the years. I've had him since he was a kitten, and he's neutered and up to date on his shots. He had a PU surgery done at age 2 due to struvite crystals, and he's recently been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (without his medication, he has the worse case of the "zooms" I've ever seen, and eats like crazy but loses weight). He's taking tapazole for the thyroid.
My problem is, he can't spray, but he tries to, EVERYWHERE! It's been going on for about a year and a half now, and the thyroid medication hasn't helped. It's not a sanitary issue since nothing comes out, but I'm worried that he may be super stressed. He's our only pet, and we moved to this house over 3 years ago. It's just DH and I, so no kids that may be tormenting him. He's quite lovey, comes when he's called, and meets us at the door when we get home in the evenings. He's also a strictly indoor cat, and has never had any problems using his litter box.
I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with this, and if they've found anything that has helped (eg. maybe Feliway?). Any information would be greatly appreciated!
