CLOSED: Rust Belly? South Florida

West Palm Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

I saw the outline of this bird and thought it was a mockingbird. I ran to get my binoculars and I saw the sun hit the bird. Rust belly ,square tail, long, yellowish beak. It was singing. A similar bird landed close by and it looked like they kissed or one was going to feed the other. I ran to get camera and I got just this picture.

That's a Robin LOL. The tougher than usual winter over 90% of Eastern US must had driven it more farther south than usual

every winter we get a fair share of robins in our area of central florida but this winter nary a one until about two weeks ago when a few came through. evidently they really did go much farther south!

Thanks.I don't see too many Robins down here. I saw the rust belly and thought maybe it was a Robin, but it was so high up in a tree and I have always seen them on the ground looking for food.

for the record, I have one in my area over by Royal Palm Beach..... they're the only things that are keeping the black birds in line..... The black birds taunt the blue jays....
